Happy Easter!
I can’t quite believe it is Easter this weekend and with the children all on holiday I thought I’d put together some free Eggciting Easter things for them to make and do.
Download and colour in these lovely eggs, stick them onto to card to make a pretty Easter card to give away or colour in lots and make some Easter Egg bunting!!!
Something Yummy!
Today I’m going to make these delicious Easter nests with Millie. They are so easy to do with your little ones, the only trouble is, they don’t last very long…..

I’m so impressed with the GMTV, “Get Britain Reading” campaign. What a fantastic idea! Being a parent, you soon realise that the importance of getting your child to read and enjoy books.
I read to Millie every night, it is a very precious time snuggling together and sharing a fabulous book, but recently Millie has started to show an interest in reading herself and I would love to get her reading by the time she starts school in September.
The whole reason behind creating my flash cards was to encourage children to learn to read through having fun. Now Millie is getting older, I wanted to introduce other words to the ones on the flash cards to try and get her reading simple sentences.
So I’ve put together a little book based on my flash cards and I have attached a short and simple story for you to share with your little ones for just 10mins a day and hope that they may start to read!
There are some fantastic books for children, our favorite books at the moment are from the wonderfully talented Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, with The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale, Stick Man and many more. Also, we love Oliver Jeffers whose fantastic stories and delightful illustrations are a sure favourite, with Lost and Found and Stuck being particularly good.
It’s always great to be recommended a good book, whatever age you are, so I’d love to hear what your favourite books are…..
And don’t forget to make your pledge too!

I’ve been hiding away since Christmas busily working away, sanding, painting, sawing and generally getting my stand ready for the Spring Fair at the NEC in Feb.
This is the first show I’ve done and I have to say I’m pretty nervous and slightly excited too.
I’m trying to get my stand to “stand out” as my flash cards boxes are very small and a 2m square stand seems quite a lot to fill.
As I seem to like to make things difficult for myself, I’ve decided to make a scene, quite literally. I’m designing my stand to look like a set, with hills and a giant flash card box and some of the characters bursting out (yes, I probably have lost the plot!). And I’m trying to do all on a really tight budget as the stand alone is costing a fortune.
Anyway, I thought I’d put up some pictures to show you how it’s going x

Wow, I can’t believe that we are only one week away from Christmas Eve, where has the time gone!! I’ve finally got round to adding some Christmas fun for you to make with your little ones.
Christmas Decorations
These decorations are very easy to make. You can either download the outline version so that children can colour them in or simply print of the coloured versions, cut them out, make them up and pop them on the tree. Millie has enjoyed playing with them so much that they didn’t ever make it on to our tree.
Click on the buttons below to Download your PDF’s.
I also have limited stock of flash cards fridge magnets available to buy, but order before Tuesday 20th for Christmas delivery x

For those of you that know Millie, you will know that she has been very much attached to her dummy since she was 3 months old. She’d got into the habit of having them all the time, day and night and at one point she had about 8 that she took to bed. Now that she is rising 4 it had got to the time when the dummies had to go.
So, after creating an elaborate story about Father Christmas needing the dummies for new little babies and the fairies coming to take them away, on Friday night, Millie finally gave up her dummies. It was so sad, she was actually grieving for them, it broke my heart to see her so upset but I know it had to happen. It’s now the 4th day without them and she is doing so well, it’s lovely to be able to see her face without a dummy in her mouth, yay! Success!
Another milestone reached, I didn’t think it would ever happen, but it was much easier than I expected. I would love to hear if you have similar stories x

My very clever Mum has taken a couple of my drawings from my flash cards and turned them into soft toys. These are only prototypes at the mo, but I might try and persuade her do some more of the characters, it’s so exciting to see them come to life, thanks Mum x
…oh and thanks to Matthew for taking the pics, we had great fun capturing these birds in their natural habitat!

Whizz Bang!
Well, I can’t believe it’s Bonfire night this weekend, where has the year gone!
I love bonfire night, but at the moment Millie is frightened by the loud noises and hides when she hears fireworks, but I really want to do something nice with her.
I think I may make some lanterns out of the left over pumpkins, have some sparklers and do some apple bobbing. I’d love to hear what you’re doing with your little ones.
Something Tasty
I found some yummy recipes to make together http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/occasions/bonfire_night
We’re making the marshmallow fudge, yum!
And some delicious toffee apples too.
Colouring fun!
I’ve done some rocket drawing to download and colour in with your children.
Netmum’s also have some fab ideas for things to make and do.

Help!
I’m doing a local market this weekend and it has turned my thoughts to expanding the Clever Little Baby range from just flash cards.
I’ve been sitting and deliberating for months about what might be good products that people would be interested in seeing, so instead of trying to guess, I thought it would be great to get your opinion.
Below are some images of products I’ve mocked up, T-Shirts, badges, limited edition prints and fridge magnets.
I’ve also got plans to do the following (no pics of these yet).
- Reward Charts
- Wall frieze
- Height Charts
- Mobiles
- Soft toys
Also, if you have any other ideas of things you’d like to see, I’d love to hear from you!
